Toph had a birthday shout hooray!

Today we celebrated Toph's Geburtstag with a game of golf (during which I was toasted to a lovely dark red color . . . yes . . . I know that I have been pasty white since my mish, thank you so much for often pointing that out to me everyone!) and scored . . . well you don't need to know my score, just know that I had some good swings/shots and learned that the key to me hitting the ball is to "keep my head down!"We went out to lunch afterward, took a nap (mmmmm!) and then went to the movie "Up." Mensch it was darling! I think I started crying 2 minutes into it! The cute part was during the previews the little kids in the theater were going crazy over the 3-D effects! It was so much fun! We of course rounded out the day with birthday cake and some scrumdiddlyumptious dinner! I made Toph a "Giant Chocolate Cookie Cake!" It was delish and a day kiddles! Happy Birthday again handsome hubby!

Must see movie!

Today we brought an amazing movie, that we found the other night for our movie night, to SG to watch with the Parry clan. We HIGHLY recommend watching it! It is an amazing reminder of those who serve in the military, their courage and sacrifice and the sacrifices of their family members and those that they serve with! I hope you get the opportunity to watch "Taking Chance." We all thought that it was very tastefully done and made me even more grateful for those who defend our country and our freedom!

Thankful Thursday!

I have maybe done a Thankful Thursday once or twice . . . I can't even remember . . . but I have much to be thankful for . . . my cup runneth over and I just have to say how thankful I am for . . .
1- My hard working, kind, loving and ever serving hubby! Toph makes my day!!! Now that he actually utilizes text messaging I receive constant reminders of how loved I am and how amazing he is! His blue eyes make me weak in the knees and he makes me want to be a better person everyday!!!
2- Nieces and nephews!!! Since our little clan has yet to expand we are SOOOO blessed to have 9 nieces and 8 nephews who simply rock the house! We love hearing about/being part of their lives and love these crazy kids to death!!!
3- A great new haircut . . . nothing makes me feel more ready to walk out my door and greet the world than a great hair day/haircut! (Okay seriously! true!)
4- My primary kids . . . talk about crash course in dealing with multiple personalities at once! The little ones in my class are such a delight and teach ME so much!
5- My federdecker! I pulled this out the other night and it is such a delight . . . especially when my Toph is gone . . . (I just keep reminding myself that this too will pass!)
6- Books!!! I have to especially thank my mom and sisters for having a never ending supply of incredible reads and for Velvee being my "cheesy" book buddy!
7- Kitchen time! Cooking is very relaxing for me and now I am back into cake decorating and am obsessed a bit! I am game to make any cake especially before school starts again!
8- I have to throw in that I am totally looking forward to our Christensen family reunion at Fishlake this summer and am determined to convince my hubby to camp out! . . . I am also determined to overcome my fear of Mountain Lions for 3 days and sleep outside!!! (Okay yes, it started back when I first saw "Where the Red fern Grows" and from seeing that stuffed bobcat in the high school when I was a kid!) Anywho FR are always so much fun and I am glad that we keep the tradition alive!
